Applications
- Due to its mechanical characteristics, it can be used in plates for fixing or holding cold stamping dies and molds or components for molds for non-ferrous metal die-casting; likewise, due to its hardness uniformity and being at the upper range of conventional steels, called treated, it can be used with excellent results in mechanical applications (shafts or axles, crankshafts, fixing elements, etc.).
Characteristics:
- Less variation in surface hardness to the core, an appreciable feature in large dimensions.
- HARDNESS: 28-32 HRC.
- More uniform mechanical properties throughout its volume.
- Good machining characteristics and better polishing ability.
- Ease of application for photogravure.
- Can be surface-hardened via nitriding processes.
